Press Release: Aaron Sachs Associates, Springfield, Missouri, to hold teen driving safety courses.

Monday, September 21st, 2009

Joplin, MO (PRWEB) September 21, 2009 — Fall is upon us, and that means our high school teens are back in the classroom. Teens are on the road in large numbers getting to and from school, with all the excitement the new school year brings, but also the attendant risks and distractions that come along with new things like driving on your own for the first time or showing up for school in your own car.
Aaron Sachs law firm, which limits its practice to personal injury cases, workers’ compensation and disability claims, has a history of sponsoring injury-prevention assemblies and activities for youngsters of high school age. Last year at this time, Sachs’ firm, which has offices in Joplin, Springfield, Columbia and Cape Girardeau, sponsored a series of teen-safety high school assemblies, for teenage drivers in the Springfield area.
This year, it’s Joplin’s turn. Next Friday morning, September 25th, Sachs’ office will be joining with KODE and KOMU and the Missouri State Highway Patrol to provide an opportunity for Joplin teenagers to learn about driving safety techniques in a series of workshops, to be held at Joplin High School at 2104 Indiana Avenue. The classes will assemble at 9:22 a.m., 10:14 a.m. and 11:06 a.m.
Sachs comments: “In 2007, every thirty minutes in Missouri, one person died or was hurt in a traffic crash involving a young driver. Statistics prove that inexperienced drivers are far more likely to be involved in accidents than older drivers. If you also take into account the fact that texting while driving can make you 23 times more likely to be in an accident, it has to plain to anyone that, as a community, we need to step up and bring home to our high school students the importance of safe driving.”
Aaron Sachs Associates’ personal injury law offices are located in Springfield, Columbia, Cape Girardeau and Joplin. Their community-service outreach program is detailed on their website: www.autoinjury.com under the “community service” header.

Springfield News-Leader – vehicle leaving the scene of an accident

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

Recently, I was reading the Springfield, MO newspaper –– the Springfield News-Leader – which reported a vehicle leaving the scene of an accident at West Calhoun Street and North Grant Avenue according to Ozarkstraffic.info.

As a car accident lawyer in Springfield, I thought I would take this opportunity to remind readers about the importance of never leaving the scene of an accident. No matter how frightened you might be of the consequences, leaving a car accident is never the thing to do. It only and always makes matters worse. Indeed leaving the scene of a Missouri car accident is a crime in and of itself. If you’ve been in a car accident in Springfield, MO or anywhere in Missouri and need help, call a Missouri accident lawyer for legal assistance, but never leave the scene of an accident.

The Springfield News-Leader also reported that 15 drivers were arrested that same weekend for driving while intoxicated (DWI) near the Freistatt festival. The arrests were part of a cooperative effort involving the sheriff’s department and the Southwest Missouri DWI Task Force, funded by a MoDOT Highway Safety Division grant. I know this has been said again and again and again, as a Springfield accident lawyer, I have got to say it yet again. Do Not Get Behind the Wheel of a Car, Truck or Motorcyle If You’ve Been Drinking! It’s against the law! It causes accidents! It kills and hurts and maims people and ruins lives!

Hey, it’s the end of summer. People should enjoy themselves, but for goodness sake, have a designated driver! It’s really pretty simple.

Don’t ever drive intoxicated. Don’t ever leave the scene of an accident. Two simple rules that can make all the difference in the world.

Springfield I Love America Celebration – A Record-Breaking 120,000 Strong!

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

In thinking back on the summer, one of the highlights was the 2009 James River “I Love America” Independence Day celebration, sponsored by Springfield, MO personal injury and accident attorney Aaron Sachs set an all-time-high attendance record with 120,000 attendees.

Hosted by the James River Assembly church on July 3rd, this was the 13th year for the festival, which has seen turnouts in past years as high as 80,000. “This year the event grew to a population larger than the fourth largest city in the state of Missouri and all on just 16 acres,” said Aaron Sachs, a Springfield attorney who helps people hurt or disabled in Missouri accidents. “It was a great day for celebrating God, the great country of America and for celebrating summer.”

The day-long event featured an air show, live music, food booths, picnic areas, and, as always, a spectacular fireworks show to cap off the celebration. With no admission fee and free watermelon, it was the family-friendly party of the summer!

And it wasn’t just the 120,000 who came to the field above the Springfield Underground who enjoyed the event. Many Springfield area neighbors set up in their own yards or neighborhoods to enjoy the fireworks. There, they celebrated not just Independence Day but their own good luck in living so close to the dazzling display!

Here’s To a Safe Labor Day Weekend in Springfield and the Ozarks!

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

As a Springfield, Mo personal injury attorney and accident lawyer, I spend a good bit of time focused on vehicle accidents on our city and state roads, but a story recently in Springfield News-Leader about a boat collision accident at Lake of the Ozarks reminds me that car, truck, bike and motorcycle accidents aren’t the only kinds of motor vehicle accidents there are.

Even after school starts again, a lot of people go to the lake over Labor Day weekend which means lots of outdoor activities that can involve accidents and personal injuries.

Just as we encourage Springfield and Ozarks citizens to drive carefully and behave responsibly to prevent motor vehicle accidents on our roads and highways, we want to take this opportunity to remind everyone to also behave responsibly and drive carefully on Missouri lakes and waterways. This means no drinking and driving, making sure all safety measures are followed — including kids in life jackets and enough life jackets for EVERYONE on the boat no matter how experienced drivers and passengers are — following safety guidelines for water skiing, etc.

Let’s happily welcome Labor Day to Springfield and the Ozarks, and do everything we can to make it in Springfield, MO and Table Rock Lake or Lake of the Ozarks this year!
